Elements recently visited the Diamond Light Source synchrotron. We poddled over to Oxfordshire and were given a guided tour of the facilities.
During our visit we talked to Stewart Scott, senior mechanical project engineer, and asked him to explain the inner working of the Diamond Light Source and how it compares to synchrotrons elsewhere in the world.
We also discussed the role of Britain in the field of engineering, and how Diamond Light Source is working to encourage the next generation of engineers. For more on that particular topic, listen to Jinan Harb’s audio piece.
