A numbers game: Q&A with Marcus du Sautoy

Rejecting the idea that numbers are boring, mathematician, broadcaster and writer Marcus du Sautoy talks to Elements about Fermat primes, Douglas Adams and symmetry.

As a communicator of maths, du Sautoy is both a professor of maths at Oxford and the current Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science. His work in communicating science and maths have won him prizes and an OBE.
