National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines form the foundations of NHS care. Lorna Powell interviewed NICE’s chairman, Sir Michael Rawlins, to find out a bit more about how clinical guidelines are developed. Sir Rawlins also explained how the organisation interacts with political bodies and the general public in order to deliver up-to-date, high quality care to patients all over the country.
